Face tracking

Face tracking

Face tracking and identification

From 2018 - 2020 I was working at Mirametrix as a research scientist. My work was extensively on designing and using various artificial neural networks, machine learning and computer vision techniques for different applications. Some of the topics that I had the chance to work on include: Face Identification, accurate face and eyelid landmark estimation (2D & 3D), head pose estimation and tracking in 3D, attention sensing, and point of gaze estimation.

OCT image Segmentation

OCT image analysis

My MSc reserach was on generating different image processing and machine learning algorithms for the analysis of biomedical, and particularly Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images.
OCT images are  The shape and thickness of the retinal layers are changed in different pathological conditions. Part of my research was on developing an efficient image segmentation algorithm for delineating the location of different retinal layers to help ophthalmologists in the diagnosis of different ocular diseases.

Bioprinting of Chronic wounds

3D bioprinting of skin cells

In this project I designed and implemented an end-to-end tool for the bio-printing of chronic wounds.
Chronic wounds are still one of the major challenges of the dermatology science. Using the proposed method, skin cells can be easily printed on the corresponding coordinates using a bio-compatible solution and the wound healing procedure can be accelerated dramatically.
The tool delineates the accurate 3D geometry of wounds using image processing and computer vision techniques. Afterwards, a 3D model is constructed based on those coordinates and the bioprinter robot will complete the process. The results of this project are published in Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics.
